About Occupational Therapy:

The Occupational Therapy Department at RRC serves the rehabilitation needs of residents in northeast Mississippi. Our clients range from pediatrics to geriatrics with a wide variety of diagnoses including but are not limited to strokes, brain injuries, autism and other neurological disorders, developmental delay, sensory integration dysfunction, degenerative diseases, and orthopedic problems. The Occupational Therapy Department assists with learning or re-learning age appropriate daily skills for home, school, or work. Activities of Daily Living

Bathing, Dressing, Grooming, Feeding / Eating, Functional Communication, Functional Mobility

Cognitive Impairments

Problem Solving, Memory, Attention Span, Orientation


Range of Motion, Muscle Tone, Strength, Endurance, Postural Control, Motor Coordination, Fine Motor, Handwriting

Sensory Processing / Visual Deficits

Sensory Defensiveness( tactile, auditory, visual, proprioceptive, vestibular, etc.), Depth Perception, Figure Ground, Right / Left Neglect

Psychosocial Skills

Social Conduct, Self Control, Interpersonal Skills
